This is why it is the preferred beach both for those who like aquatic sports (kite surf, surf, sailing, ...) and the families with kids.
On the beach side, there are restaurants, cafes and bars for every taste and public, from the traditional to the chill out.

Some opinions from TripAdvisor:
A great beach where we can bath in a salty calm lagoon or in the angry sea. Your choose :) Kids love the natural lagoon which is created by the sand that captures the sea above. Even on the busiest Sunday in August you can walk a few minutes and find space. Lovely bars & cafes that have not yet discovered the art of ripoff. Stunning views.
Safe swimming in the lagoon or exciting breakers on the coastal beach. Perfect.
Most beautiful beach we've seen in Portugal! Must see. Calm see and not too crowded. Lagoon next to Obidos. We return this year.
